About Michael
As a portraitist, Michael has spent more than 30 years capturing his observations through the medium of photography. Michael is interested in the beauty of enduring things, and at the endurance of beautiful things.
His current project Seeking Refuge (Becoming American) awakens our thoughts to the survivor around us; often forgotten, beautiful and unstoppable. On neutral backgrounds, Michael explores the intimacy of his subjects through the elements of light, texture and muted tones. Seeking Refuge captures the human complexity of the urban refugee: the tenderness amidst adversity and strength.
As a multi-disciplined photographer, Michael’s work has found national and international success across a wide spectrum of audiences. Custom images can be found in personal and corporate collections as well as displayed in iconic hotels throughout the world: Marriott, Hyatt, Mirage, Caesar’s Palace, Bally’s, New York New York, and The Michelangelo to name a few. At a different level, select prints from his Botanical collection have been carried by such national retailers as Macy’s, Target, J.C. Penney, Sears, and Art.com in addition to many boutique retailers.
Michael has also enjoyed critical success though Forest Productions & Photography, the studio he owns along with and his talented wife Christina in Buffalo, NY. For over the past two decades, their unique Creative Director / Producer partnership has created award winning work for leading brands and institutions, earning the studio and their clients consistent recognition along the way.
